Just because you are traveling on a tight budget, doesn't mean you need to be far away from the action. The city center of Chicago has plenty of options for all wallet sizes. You may not get the attentive service that luxury hotels offer, but what you save on accommodations you can use to splurge shopping or dining out.

Simple and clean, the Chinatown Hotel is a bargain considering it is just south of the Loop, the downtown area of Chicago. Rooms, which are usually priced at less than $90 per night, are small and basic, but hotel staff is attentive and friendly. The hotel is less than a quarter mile from the Red Line that can take you to downtown Chicago and Wrigley Field. Other nearby attractions include Sears Tower, Chicago Museum Campus and Grant Park.

Just one block east of Michigan Avenue is the Red Roof Inn Chicago Downtown. Housed in a classic red-brick building, the hotel is in a prime location for an affordable price.
