From Lincoln Park cross the North Ave Bridge; stop by to get views of Lake Shore Drive and Michigan Avenue and then head to the Beach. At the North Avenue Beach, the boat shaped Beach house is recently renovated and has restrooms and snack bars for your convenience.
Enjoy a swim or play chess at the vintage chess pavilion close to the beach house. You will see the beach flooded with people in the summers. Watch people busy in various recreational activities. Relax, sunbathe, read a book, play beach volleyball, or jog along the coast line.
After you are done at the beach, you may want to go and see Chicago Historical Society and Lincoln Park both situated nearby.
The nearest nicest restaurant is Nookies (312-337-2454), that offers American cuisine in a casual setting. Or you can have some pub grub, cocktails and dance to techno music at the Roadhouse, where the main draw is the cheap drinks.
The Drake Hotel located just a mile away has a European ambience with an old world charm. Modern amenities and prime location make it a nice spot for your business or leisure stay. Another nice option would be Sutton Place Hotel by the Magnificent Mile, which offers free transportation to the Loop area.
