Garfield Park

Garfield Park, designed by William Le Baron Jenny after President James Garfield, was completed in the 1870s and totals 184 acres.

The Garfield Park Conservatory, dubbed "landscape art under glass," is a great draw for all kinds of visitors. Find an amazing collection of cactus, ferns, and many other varieties of plants, as well as several statues that used to decorate the entire park. The 4.5-acre site is used for growing plants for the city's numerous parks and public spaces.

Boxing, gym, gymnastics, swimming and baseball facilities are all located within the premises. Paths for joggers, runners and cyclists go through out the entire park, and a fitness center is available as well.

Other nearby attractions include the Peace Museum, the Ukrainian National Museum, Columbus Park and Oriental Theatre.

Close by, you can enjoy a sumptuous meal in cozy ambiance at Maiz (773-276-3149), which serves up Latin American and Mexican cuisine.

If you are looking for something to liven up your night; Club Foot a little over 2 miles away and the DJs here play a mix of punk, pop and country.
