Merchandise Mart is located in River North and is known as the world's largest commercial building. The 25 floors cover a large 4.2 million square feet, which makes it the largest commercial building, built so far. The massive structure covers an entire two blocks and features some of the best showrooms in town.

The trade shows at Merchandise Mart rival those at Pier 94 and McCormick Place. If you are the business type, this is a must attend affair. See exhibits on furnishings, apparel, antiques, bridal, gifts and home accessories; find from brand names to novices; stroll through 50+ retail stores and restaurants at this popular attraction.

After the hectic browsing and shopping, rest your feet at one of the many restaurants that offer local, Japanese, Chinese and Mediterranean cuisine with a fast food twist.  For fine dining, go over to Kinzie Chophouse (312-822-0191), located in the neighborhood and enjoy thick cuts of meat with crispy salad.
