John Hancock Center is located in Magnificent Mile and is an outstanding feature of the Chicago skyline. Standing at 1,127 ft., with 100 floors and 50 elevators, this tower is the third tallest building of the city.  The site of this building was a 19th century steam boat shanty.

John Hancock Center is home to offices, condominiums and restaurants. The Signature Room on the 95th Floor is a famous spot for diners. The restaurant offers stretching views of silvery Lake Michigan and the city. On a clear day, you can see as far as 80 miles away.

The actual observation deck is located on the 94th Floor, and it competes with the Sears Tower facility. You will get to feel the wind 1,030 feet above the ground level. On the 44th floor, you can find the highest indoor swimming pool in the country. You will learn about the building at the informational exhibits.

Later, you may want to have a celestial experience at Kiva (312-840-8120) that offers more than a 100 spa services, or just walk down to Oak Street Beach and watch the people run, jog, cycle and skate.

When you feel like eating, go to the Cheesecake Factory (312-337-1101) located nearby and order from the extensive menu. For dessert have their chocolate mousse cheesecake. This restaurant is very popular and gets packed soon, so get there early.

While you are in the neighborhood, go over to Signature Lounge at the 96th. On the weekends you can enjoy live jazz music. This touristy spot is really stylish and you can have nice views of the lake and Navy Pier along with some nice cocktails.

If you like the neighborhood, stay at the 4 star The Westin Michigan Avenue Chicago. Good service, luxurious rooms and delicious food make this hotel the best choice for your business or leisure stay. On the less pricey side, try the Best Western Grant Park located in a prime spot close to excellent shopping, fine dining and major attractions.
