From a small display in a teacher's home to a museum that opened in its own building in 1973- the DuSable Museum of African American History has been growing ever since.
DuSable showcases a unique culture, well worth your study. On display, you will find artifacts, photos, fine oil paintings, drawings and also sculpture that help define the evolution of African American culture.
Learn more about the civil rights era, the Black heritage and contributions to American history; and also major trials, triumphs and pain. You are sure to come across many American stories of bravery, honor and idealism at this Chicago museum.
